The Age Grade % adjustment factor is broadly based on the WMA (World Masters Athletics) tables for 10k records. The final Age Grade % is the adjusted ranking points divided by (1375 x 5), expressed as a percentage.
Men peak between the ages of 23 and 27. Women peak between 21 and 29. After that there is a slow and steady decline in performance until the late 50s where it tails off at an even faster rate.
